Cushioning: Where and why would you use it?
A cushioned sole is great indoors, especially while exercising on a treadmill or standing/walking on a hard surface. Cushioning will help to decrease pressure on your feet and legs during exercise, by absorbing shock that the body may take on as a potential injury.
Cushioning becomes very important during high-impact activities as well, such as plyometrics, HIIT, and other jumping activities. If your feet and legs typically perform these exercises with shoes, they are not adapted to perform these exercises while barefoot. Although cushioning is important, too much cushioning forces your foot and leg muscles to work overtime to provide stability.
