Small Adjustments Can Make A Huge Difference

Often, it's the little things that can make a huge impact.

A client came to us looking for relief and the tools needed to get back to her active lifestyle after sustaining an injury. She developed a Baker's Cyst in the back of her left knee, and due to the tightness and pain in her left leg that the cyst was creating, she found herself compensating and shifting her weight to her right leg. Without the correct support and footwear, this can lead to further discomfort, which is exactly what was happening in her situation, both legs now being affected.

An avid runner and generally active person, she was becoming increasingly more frustrated with a growing list of ailments putting her into a less active lifestyle. She came in for her assessment and we developed a plan from there to provide relief!

We discovered the higher arch and wide splay in her feet combined with the lack of support in her footwear to accommodate these factors were adding unneeded strain on her knees and ankles. This was not doing anything to help with the tight and painful cyst. We set her up with a pair of Kneed To Be Insoles and a Knee Support Knee Brace. These insoles were suggested to provide support and a more natural splay to her feet while being active, and the knee brace was suggested to hold everything securely in one spot on the left side to prevent further damage and irritation to the cyst.

Here's what she had to say about the results so far:

"It's been just a little over a week, but I'm already floored at how much of a difference these small changes are making. Naturally, my feet felt tender for the first few days after wearing the insoles but overall, I find my knees and legs are feeling considerably less achy. I've been doing a combination of more walking and some light jogging while wearing these new items and it feels great. The insoles fit seamlessly in both my running shoes and my Earth Origins active flats. They are flexible, moldable, and offer adaptive arch support and heel cradling.

The whole process of getting the assessment and purchasing the right items didn't take much more than an hour of my time. I'm so happy that I'm able to slowly but surely become active again while also healing these issues.

A big thank you to the Canadian Certified Pedorthist who assisted me, and the whole team at Stand Your Ground for the great experience!"
